Sidong Fu (aka Stone) has a Master's degree in Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. He received his BA(Hon) in Psychology from the University of Waterloo. He is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) in the RP Qualifying category.
Stone has clinical experience working with clients who have depression/anxiety issues, bipolar, complex trauma, porn addiction, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, relationship/family issues, attachment issues, learning disabilities, and many other mental health concerns. He leads weekly DBT groups, psycho-spiritual education groups, self-help reading club, and mindfulness groups.
He has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness approach, the Emotionally-Focused Therapy approach and has accumulated a lot of experience counseling single parents, couples, and families.
Informed by positive psychology and other evidence-based research, Stone helps his clients to grow from the perspectives of emotion, physical awareness/mindfulness, attachment, thoughts/cognition, narrative, meaning-finding, and spirituality. Clients achieve improvement in their thinking patterns, emotional regulation, interpersonal and romantic relationships, academic and work performance, physical and mental health, and self-esteem.
